He will discuss his latest research and book project, “Swifties: Anatomy of a Fandom,” which explores the meaning, joy, and sense of connection Swift’s fans find through their dedication to the pop icon.

Donovan’s insights have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Daily Beast, USA Today, and Christian Science Monitor, with extended profiles in the Kansas City Star, the Kansas Alumni Magazine, and an op-ed for MSNBC. He teaches an undergraduate class titled “The Sociology of Taylor Swift” at KU and serves as faculty advisor for the university’s Swift Society club.
